It is with great sadness that the HCS must announce that we will not be meeting or performing for the concert season 2020-2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Board met this month and determined from available evidence, the progression of the pandemic, and the status of our various partners that attempting to meet for rehearsals and stage concert events would not be safe for our members nor our audience without the assurance of a vaccine and better conditions for group gatherings. This announcement comes after carefully crafting our statements to ensure clarity.
Our Board will continue to meet monthly to assess our current situation, survey the current climate of our community as it pertains to the pandemic, and to ensure our financial and organizational obligations are able to be met while we are suspending activities. Both our music director Dr. Kyle Zeuch and associate conductor/accompanist Victor Fields are eager to return to activity for the 2021-22 Season, and will be engaging our membership during the hiatus to help maintain our community during this time.
Read our official statement below, and also a FAQ document to answer any questions regarding this announcement.
