Erin Lippard, mezzo-soprano

Erin Lippard, mezzo-sopranoErin Lippard, mezzo-soprano, is an active teacher and performer with a diverse background in opera, musical theatre, art song, and choral literature. Lippard joined the faculty of York College of Pennsylvania eight years ago as the Director of Vocal Studies, where she teaches a variety of music literature classes and is head of the musical theatre program. Recent projects include directing the York College production of The Secret Garden by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon, as well as soloing with the Jonathan Beech Memorial Concert Series performance of John Rutter's Mass for the Children. Prior to returning to her home state of Pennsylvania, Lippard taught on the voice faculties at Sul Ross State University (Alpine, TX), the University of Colorado (Denver, CO), and the Rocky Mountain Center for the Musical Arts (Louisville, CO). Lippard earned her doctorate in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado (Boulder). She holds a master’s degree from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. Originally from Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, Erin now lives in York, PA where she enjoys hiking and cooking with her husband, Michael, and their two young children, Jacob and Anna.
